Lots has happened since we moved in, especially to do with our renovations. One of the most pressing items we needed to address was the roof. It’s old, rusty and no longer 100% weatherproof. As much as I love the rustic look, I prefer to have a roof that keeps the rain out!
We wanted to extend the verandah at the front of the house before replacing the roof, therefore taking the front from being somewhat of a hallway, to an open, useable space that is shielded from the weather. This is pretty much complete, the materials have been delivered, so the next step is holding out for nice weather to replace the roof.
Update #2
We are now halfway through the roof replacement. It has to be done in 4 stages, as each stage takes a day to complete, and we are also at the mercy of the weather.
So far, we are beyond happy with the new verandah and roof sheets. I think we made the right choice with colour, wanting reflective qualities to do our best to insulate the inside.

Rust be gone!! x
